You could call it an early Christmas for the big kids, as the release of Jakks Pacific’s first two waves of UFC action figures on toy shelves over the last seven weeks has been greeted with the type of glee from fight fans that is usually reserved for the morning of December 25th.
It was just the type of reception Enrique Ruvalcaba, Jakks Pacific’s Director of Marketing, was hoping for.
“I had really high expectations,” Ruvalcaba told UFC.com. “I knew the potential for the brand was huge, but I was also conservative in our production and forecasting. I think now that we’ve launched, it’s doing great.”

Before the stunning UFC 105 this weekend Strikeforce entertain MMA fans worldwide with the breathtaking fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers last Saturday. The following fights took place on Saturday night in Chicago, Ill. and were broadcast on CBS.
Fedor Emelianenko defeated Brett Rogers via TKO in round two.
Jake Shields over Jason "Mayhem" Miller via unanimous decision.
Gegard Mousasi beat Sokooudjou via TKO in round two.
Fabricko Werdum defeated Antonio Silva via unanimous decision.
Rogers landed a big left jab early that left a big gash on Fedor's nose. Rogers also had a nice flurry of punches with 90 seconds left in the exciting first round. Fedor's face was covered by blood at the end of the round. Fedor also had his moments in round one, which was difficult to score. Rogers look gassed in round two, and Fedor knocked him out less than two minutes into round two.
This wasn't the type of performance that will leave non-Fedor fans thinking he's the best heavyweight in the world. He beat an inferior opponent in what turned out to be a much more entertaining fight than I expected, but I doubt too many Brock Lesnar supporters felt Fedor could beat the UFC Champion. Of course, Fedor has looked much more dominant in past fights. Sadly, we may never get that dream fight. This was a decent showing for Strikeforce on CBS. The big question now is how many people saw the show.

Brock Lesnar, the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s massive heavyweight titleholder, was forced to withdraw Monday from his highly anticipated Nov. 21 title defense in Las Vegas against Shane Carwin.
Carwin, via his Twitter feed, said the fight will be rescheduled for UFC 108 on Jan. 2.
UFC president Dana White confirmed the news to Yahoo! Sports. White said Lesnar has been ill for more than three-and-a-half weeks and unable to train. With the bout at UFC 106 less than a month away, Lesnar was forced to postpone the title defense.
“He said he’s never been this sick in his life,” White said. “He said it’s been going on for a long time and he just hasn’t been able to shake it.”
Lesnar’s co-manager, Brian Stegeman, said he does not know whether Lesnar had H1N1, commonly known as swine flu, and that he is beyond the stage at which he could be tested for the virus. He said Lesnar had upper respiratory issues, fever and extreme fatigue.
“Honestly, he’s been sick since the beginning of this camp and he’s had to take days off throughout,” Stegeman said.
The fight matches two of the biggest and most powerful heavyweights in the UFC. Lesnar (4-1), a former World Wrestling Entertainment star, was a junior college and NCAA Division I wrestling champion. Carwin is a former Division II national wrestling champion.
Both men weigh around 295 pounds and cut weight to make the heavyweight division’s 265-pound limit.
Carwin (11-0), who made several appearances in Los Angeles on Saturday to promote the fight, was clearly disappointed at getting the news.
“My heart just sank, as you can imagine,” Carwin told Yahoo! Sports upon hearing the news about the fight postponement.
The UFC announced Monday afternoon it will move the previously scheduled Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin fight, a rematch of an epic 2006 contest won by Ortiz on a controversial split decision, into the Nov. 21 main event slot
Stegeman said Lesnar just took an entire week off from training with no appreciable improvement. He said Lesnar’s head mixed martial arts coach, Marty Morgan, didn’t think he’d have enough training time to properly prepare.
“We kept thinking that he’d get better and be back at it, but it finally got to a point here where we were looking at a situation where Brock would have just two weeks to train for this fight.
“That’s just not fair to him. There’s no way a two-week training camp is even close to being fair to him and we all realized that. We kept hoping Brock would respond and get better, but it just lingered.”

Ben Rothwell's not just here for the party, he wants the belt
Ben Rothwell has fought 36 fights in his MMA career. Not one of those fights has been in the UFC. He will finally make his UFC debut this Saturday against Cain Velasquez at UFC 104. According to Rothwell, getting to the UFC was never the goal; winning the belt is his motive.The goal of my career was to get to the UFC, but not just get there – dominate there and finish my career there. The things I’ve done so far are not real accomplishments. To me there’s only one accomplishment, and that’s the belt. This is the chance I’ve been waiting for. It’s my chance to really let my wings unfold. People are going to see an entirely different Ben Rothwell. I want to get the belt and make that a starting point. I really haven’t shown the best that I’ve got.
Though Velasquez, one of the UFC's hottest up-and-comers, will be a tough test for Rothwell, you shouldn't look past him. He has only one loss in his past ten fights, and that was to Andrei Arlovski before his career-changing loss to Fedor Emelianenko.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson posted this message over his decision to take a break from fighting to play B.A. Baracus in the new A-Team movie.The UFC has done a lot for me but I think I have done more for them. The UFC bought WFA to get my contract & they saved my life, so I felt loyal to them. They pushed me into a fight with Chuck Liddel even when I clearly stated I wasn't ready to fight for the belt because the American fans didn't know me but I took the fight and didn't complain & after I won the American fans booed me for the first time which changed the way I saw them & it hurt me deeply. Then before I can even get out of the cage they announced that I was fighting Dan Henderson without even asking me. After I beat Dan Henderson, I made history in becoming the first undisputed champion in MMA but was never even given the pride belt in the cage & I was never promoted as the undisputed champ. Later Anderson Silva was. Then they had me coach TUF season 7 and fight Forrest and the fight was very controversial & normally when a fight is that close & controversial there is normally an instant replay. I can name a couple of instances. Instead they offered me the Vanderlei Silva fight which I gladly accepted even though I know it was a very risky fight for me to take because of all the drama that was happening to me at the time. I fought that fight with a jaw injury and then a couple weeks later Dana called me and asked me to fight Rashad. For the first time I said no, I didn't want to fight because it was such short notice & I wouldn't have had a long break between camp. Dana talked me into fighting Rashad anyway but Rashad refused the fight and so I had to fight Jardine as a favor to the UFC instead of getting my belt back (which wasn't even worth it to me financially). Then I reinjured my jaw in the fight with Vanderlei & Jardine. Frank Mir gets hurt so they wanted to switch my fight from UFC 100 to the fight Frank couldn't make it to but I couldn't fight cause I needed jaw surgury. So they give Machida the fight against Rashad & they told me they want me to coach TUF season 10 against Rashad. That's why I wanted Rashad to win so bad but when Rashad got knocked out I told them I wanted to fight Machida for the belt but Dana told me if I coach TUF against Rashad that I could fight Machida afterwards cause this was a different type of ultimate fighter show they were doing. After I signed the contract Dana then changes his mind & says I have to fight Rashad & even told me what to say in the press & so my fans think I was scared to fight Machida. After all that I still never complained & I did it all. Then this movie role came about that I have been trying to get for over a year & as soon as I found out I was close to getting it, I called Dana right away & asked to push the Memphis fight back just a month or so. I told him what this movie role meant to me. I told him that I used to bond with my father watching the tv show as a kid when my parents where still married & it represents the memories I had with my father when we lived together. My dad became an alcohalic & addicted to drugs & we grew apart. But after my dad got his life back together, I was so proud of my dad & I told him I would always take care of him in the future & make him proud of me. My dad & I are still very big fans of the show & I am basically doing this for the childhood memories I had spending time in front of the tv with my dad. Dana went on the internet & mocked me because of that & I still did nothing. Dana & I finally talked & we made up & then after that he went back on the internet & said some [expletive] & he was talking bad about the movie when information is not even supposed to be released & talking about payments which is not even true could really hurt my future acting career, which could very well last longer than my fighting career. I'm not like Randy Couture. My body has been getting so many different injuries that I wont be able to fight until my forties & neither do I want to fight that long. So I feel like my second career could be in jeopardy.. so I'm done fighting. I've been getting negative reviews from the dumb ass fans that don't pay my bills or put my kids though college. So I'm hanging it up. I'm gonna miss all my loyal fans but hopefully they'll follow me to my new career & I will gain more loyal fans along the way. & all you hater fans out there can kiss my big black hairy [expletive]! & anybody that don't like what I just said can come try to kick my [expletive]! I still feel the UFC is a great organization and I felt like I was very loyal to them but they didn't respect my loyalty but I wish the UFC the best. I did a lot of things for them. I wish no bad blood between us but I have kids & a family back in Memphis to provide for & thats all that matters to me!

Season 10 will be very exciting because we will be looking for new guys. All of them are fighting for a shot on a title contract. It will feature four former NFL players, three fierce UFC’s best, the last heavyweight champ of the IFL, and the biggest name ever in street fighting. Former UFC Light Heavy Weight Champ Rampage Jackson will coach the first team. The other team will be led by the first ever UFC heavyweight champ and a well-known striker Rashad Evans. As we all know things already heats up between the two coaches and they have the best place to take care of it.
So, September 16 will be the start of the six weeks of pure fight and in the end on one man will stand out and became the Ultimate Fighter.
